Imagine you’re a three year old on the street. You have no clue what this world is, how it functions. You only know hunger, you feel cold, and hot, exhausted. You see people pass by, merry, happily going around their businesses.
You’re seven now, still unsure of the world. You still do feel hunger, cold, fatigue, and still, there are people going around merrily, joyous, oblivious of the day to day hardships, that u find deadly.
You’re twelve. Still hungry, cold, exhausted, unsure of the way world spins, or even what “Earth” is? Unsure, how these merry looking people erupt during day, and disappear at nightfall.
That brings me to the question. What do you believe is “Law and Order”? It’s probably a way to control the evils in a society, so as to defend people from losing what they acquire over years, in the form of property, currency or assets.
Or, is it just a way to deny the right of existence to people who weren’t as lucky to begin with. To stall them against challenging the others, for the same joys and luxuries.
Now, as that twelve year old boy, would you think of “changing the world for good” or of just picking that apple on the shop-shelf? Stealing a blanket to sleep and some clean water to bathe? Let's admit it, Everyone is selfish, and there's not much wrong with it. It's just the way we are wired. Law of nature.
Although, there are glorious synonyms to some self-interests. If that twelve year old wants to own a car, it's Greed, but if Vijay Mallya wants to own the biggest brewery of the world, it's ambition. Who defines these definitions? Are they really to be trusted?
That leaves us with plenty to think upon. Who gives us the right to judge what society is supposed to be like? What an ideal society should or should not have? What should be the future of that 12 year old? It’s not for us to decide, or is it?
